Tron Legacy (trailer), a sequel to the 1982 film Tron is slated for release next year. I don't know what the record is for time elapsed before a sequel is made, but at 28 years, this has to be up there. My first thought was the Color of Money (1986), a sort of unofficial sequel to The Hustler (1961), but that was only 25 years.Despite my griping about all the sequels, adaptations and remakes that make up the majority of movies today, I won't complain. I loved Tron as a kid, and still think it holds up as one of the most unique and underrated movies of all time. I just hope they do it well. The SFX look fantastic, as one would expect (in fact, this isn't so much a trailer as it is a promo), but hopefully they won't mail it in.

I'm just glad they decided to change the name the thing had during development which was, and I'm not making this up at all, the unpronounceable "T2RN."

No to leave a bunch of dumb comments, but looking at that name they had during development, it looks like Terminator 2, RN.

Ah, I see that Jeff Bridges is in this. Considering Flynn's apartment above the video arcade in the original Tron, I hope that Bridges plays the aging Flynn a lot (i.e. exactly) like The Dude.

If we're looking at long time periods between sequels, Wall Street 2 is in production. The first one was 1987.
I loved Tron! Can't wait for this long deserved sequel.
