In a presentation that is both surprising, eerie and more than a little disturbing, Japanese artist Isao Hashimoto has created a time-lapse map of the 2,053 nuclear explosions that took place between 1945 and 1998. First thought, I had no idea there were this many nuclear tests. Second, why is France responsible for so many? And is there anywhere in the old Soviet Union that wasn't the site of a nuclear test?
